Your Roof Cleaning Appointment

What to Expect Before, During, and After Roof Cleaning

From the initial roof review through final cleanup, you should know how the scope is confirmed, how the property is prepared, how the treatment is applied, and when to expect the finished result. Commercial and multi-building properties use a separate assessment because access, operations, phasing, and documentation require custom planning.

Before the Crew Arrives

A Little Preparation Prevents Avoidable Problems

Peak may ask the customer to provide access, move vehicles from runoff or equipment areas, secure pets, unlock gates, and identify pools, ponds, delicate plants, irrigation equipment, or known property concerns.

  • Confirm access and parking
  • Secure pets and open required gates
  • Move fragile outdoor items when requested
  • Identify sensitive landscaping and water features
  • Share HOA, insurance, listing, or closing deadlines
No additional service should be performed or charged without customer approval and an updated scope.
During the Appointment

What Happens on Cleaning Day

1

Pre-Cleaning Condition Check

Review obvious roof and property conditions that could affect the cleaning scope. This is not a formal roof inspection.

2

Access and Safety Setup

Position ladders and equipment, identify work zones, and use roof-access controls appropriate to the property.

3

Property and Plant Protection

Pre-wet and monitor landscaping, plan downspouts and runoff, and protect selected sensitive areas.

4

Roof-Specific Treatment

Apply the approved product and process at controlled pressure with the required dwell time.

5

Rinse and Cleanup as Required

Complete roof, landscaping, hardscape, siding, and work-area rinsing according to the material and service scope.

6

Final Review

Review the completed scope and explain what should look different immediately versus what may release gradually.

After the Visit

Immediate Improvement vs. Gradual Release

Immediate Improvement

Black Algae and Surface Soiling

Suitable roofs treated with the standard method may show strong visible improvement on service day.

  • Black streaks
  • Uneven organic staining
  • Selected surface dirt
  • Photographic improvement
May Take Longer

Moss, Lichen, and Gradual Treatments

Tightly attached growth can remain visible after it has been treated and release over time.

  • Moss and lichen
  • Citra-Shield results
  • Weather-assisted release
  • Follow-up timing based on scope
Included Only When Agreed

Do Not Assume Every Add-On Is Part of Roof Cleaning

01

Completion Photos

Photographs may be included when requested and defined in the written scope.

02

Gutter Cleaning

Interior gutter and downspout cleaning is a separate quote when available.

03

Commercial Documentation

Building records, phased closeout, and formal photo sets should be scoped before work.

04

Roof Repairs

Cleaning does not include leak repair, flashing, sealant, fasteners, or material replacement.

05

Inspection Reports

Formal structural, warranty, insurance, and roofing inspections are not part of cleaning.

06

Other Exterior Services

No unrelated washing or add-on should be performed without explicit approval.

Appointment FAQs

Practical Questions About Cleaning Day

Do I need to be home?

That depends on access, property preparation, payment, pets, gates, and the agreed service process. Confirm the appointment requirements before service day.

Do I need to climb on the roof?

No. Homeowners should not climb onto the roof to prepare for the appointment.

Will the crew walk on the roof?

Peak prefers ladder-line work when practical. Roof access depends on material, condition, pitch, equipment, and service requirements.

How long will the appointment take?

Timing depends on roof size, pitch, levels, access, growth, selected method, property protection, weather, and cleanup.

Will the roof look clean when the crew leaves?

Black algae may improve quickly. Moss, lichen, and gradual treatments may need additional time.

What happens if roof damage is found?

Obvious concerns can be documented, but Peak does not diagnose or repair them as part of cleaning. A qualified roofer should review the issue.

How can I share roof photos?

Email ground-level photos of your roof and surrounding landscaping to askthepros@peakroofcleaning.com. Do not climb onto the roof to take photos.

Know What Will Happen Before Cleaning Day
